‘Careful your phone doesn’t get wet’, says Zahra Ait Boumessaoud, while striking a pose in front of a giant African mask spouting a huge water mist from its mouth. ‘It’s you that’s getting sprayed’, laughs Mounia Ben Ali while snapping several images.
Singing on the shuttle bus on the way there. Smiles everywhere. Animated conversation in the air. It was clear everyone was adamant to make this into a wonderful day.
They visited Anima, an artistic garden on the road to Ourika, half an hour from Marrakech. Anima, set up by Austrian artist and multitalent André Heller, is quickly becoming the new go to destination for anyone visiting Marrakech.
Our students want to express their gratitude to Mei Ling Epstein, who sponsored the trip. Besides Epstein and her family, another young family accompanied the girls and crew of Riad Moustaqbel to Anima. This gave our students the welcome opportunity to practice their English and French. The atmosphere was elated, and the art and landscape called for close to a thousand selfies and group pics to be taken.
Mei Ling Epstein thank you for this perfect day.
